Inside out

by Jolyn Low

It’s as though people have a problem with reservation. Is there something wrong with not being all bright eyes and bushy tailed all day; being a dog? Is it wrong to err on the side of caution and being introverted? Is it, really?

Sorry that I do not live up to this social expectation then.

Patronizing someone because of their nature is wrong. It’s disgusting, in fact. It is not a must to be a social butterfly. It is not a must to approach others for no other reason other than to socialize. Choosing not to bother others is not equivalent to self-isolation.

No wonder so many struggle with acceptance and anxiety. People are too damn fixated with their version of acceptable. Abnormal exists too, hey.
